Very soon, on 8 September, our masterpiece will be revealed at the opening of the SWELL Sculpture Festival.
‘Call Home’ is a sculpture consisting of 76 hand-made tiles that represent Australian flora, fauna, and the seas. One of the unique features of this artwork is the collaboration of 16 local artists to create this remarkable piece.
The sculpture’s colours are inspired by blue for water, green for plants, and brown for animals. At its core, ‘Call Home’ features a meticulously crafted base that pays homage to the Australian landscape and its diverse natural life. A mirror ball is at the centre, representing the viewer’s unique cultural identity. It invites people to explore their reflections and feel a sense of belonging.
